Nema approves KES 24 bn commuter rail project

The dream of a world-class railway system in Nairobi inched closer to reality last week after an environmental impact assessment study gave the ambitious project a clean bill of health.
According to Daily Nation, preliminary results have established that the KES 24 billion Nairobi commuter rail project would have no negative effect on the environment.
But some residents of the Kibera and Mukuru slums may have to be moved.
