NSSF barred from awarding tenders

Nairobi - The National Social Security Fund has been barred from awarding any new tenders by the government pending an audit on the on-going projects barely a week after the sacking of the managing trustee, Tom Odongo.
In a statement to Daily Nation on Tuesday, Labour and Social Security Cabinet Secretary Kazungu Kambi said that all projects that were tendered but not yet awarded or started had been cancelled, and will be tendered afresh.
Kambi added that all projects awarded and on-going will be subjected to a comprehensive audit by an Efficiency Monitoring Unit.
