NHIF car park saga
23 July 2013, 10:06
Nairobi - A car park that was constructed by funds from the National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) is yet to be given a clean bill of health by the Nairobi City Council.
Business Daily reports that the car park was completed two years ago for more than three times the projected cost but was yet to receive a completion certificate from City Hall to show that the building plans were followed to the letter during its construction.
The storeyed car park cost KES 4 billion against the KES 910 million agreed with a local contractor in May 2002 with an August 2003 completion target.
