Nairobi - Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) Managing Director Eva Oduor has been suspended by the Industrialisation and Enterprise Development Cabinet Secretary Adan Mohamed, Capital News reports.
Mohamed attributed the sudden move to “misconduct claims arising from the recently annulled Mombasa Laboratory project” and appointed the Director of Standards Development and International Trade at KEBS, Charles Gichahi in an acting capacity.
Oduor is accused of inflating the budget for the construction of the laboratory by KES 300,000 and also awarding the tender to the highest bidder among eight applicants.
