Ministry to probe Kenya Power over price hike

Nairobi - The Standard reports the move by Kenya Power to increase its basic tariffs and new customers connection costs will next month be determined by the Ministry of Energy.
According to Energy and Petroleum Cabinet Secretary Davis Chirchir, the ministry is still studying the power bill as well as the distribution infrastructure to
establish the cost of electricity in the Kenyan market.
He said it should be ready within a month or so, and from there they will be able to get the right price.
