Nairobi - Kenya's inflation rate rose to 6.02 per cent in July 2013 from 4.91 per cent in June 2013, due to the rise in the cost of utilities the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) said in their report findings.
The report further stated that the Consumer Price Indices (CPI) increased by 0.2 per cent from 139.59 in June 2013 to 139.87 in July 2013, The Standard reports.
Food and non-alcoholic drinks, housing, water, electricity, gas and transport were the mainly affected commodities, due to total falls that outweighed rises in the average prices of various food items.
