Nairobi - Kenya's economy grew by 5.3 percent in 2014 compared with 5.7 percent in the previous year, hurt by slowing agricultural output, Devolution and Planning Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru said on Wednesday.
She said increased government spending helped growth, but the agriculture sector contracted, expanding by 3.5 percent from 5.2 percent in 2013.
The 2013 figure was revised upwards after rebasing in September.
