Kenya misses revenue, borrowing targets in July-Sept

Nairobi - Kenya's external borrowing rose as it was unable to meet its domestic borrowing and revenue collection targets in the first quarter of the 2011/12 (July-June) fiscal year, the Finance Ministry said on Tuesday.
Net domestic borrowing in July to September stood at 12.3 billion shillings against a target of 49.8 billion for the quarter.
Total revenue collection was off its projection by 30.2 billion shillings to stand at 149.1 billion shillings.
