Nairobi – According to Capital News, Kenya Airways (KQ) has recorded an increase in passenger numbers both in international and domestic routes between July and September 2011.
In a statement KQ said that with their introduction of direct flights to Rome and operating double daily weekend flights on London route boosted their operating results for the second quarter as passengers flying to Europe increased by 11 percent to 158,247 compared to the corresponding period last year.
Passenger traffic also improved by 18.7 percent to 133,833 against a capacity growth of 9.7 percent, on the Middle East, Far East and India regions, with Bombay registering the highest, a scenario that was attributed to the deployment of a Boeing 777 in July and August 2011.
The introduction of additional frequencies to North, Central and Southern Africa attributed to the growth, in a bid to cope with the growing demand by business travellers.
