Industrialists in support of Standard Gauge Railway

Nairobi - Leading industrialists have come out in support of the Standard Gauge Railway, saying it will greatly boost the economy, the Nation reports.
The SGR has divided opinion over its suitability, need and cost factor, with detractors claiming it is too expensive and is not needed in the country at the present time.
But in a move that will further rubber-stamp the rail deal, major industrialists including the likes of Bidco's Vimal Shah and Comcraft group's Manu Chandaria say that the railway is needed to enhance growth in the economy.
The two note that all developed countries have a highly functioning railway system and say that it will reduce the cost of doing business in the country.
