Equity Bank unveils M-Pesa rival

Nairobi - In a bid to make gains in the lucrative mobile money market, Equity Bank has launched an international money transfer service.
According to The Standard, the bank has partnered with global card payments provider Visa, that will see Equity Bank customers now be able to use their Visa enabled cards to send and receive money to anyone, across any bank network internationally.
According to Equity Bank Chief Operations Officer Dr Julius Kipng’etich, the new offer will be a game changer in money transfer services, that is currently dominated by Safaricom's MPESA system.
