31 July 2013, 18:19
Nairobi - Building owners who have not paid their land rate arrears stand to lose their property as the Nairobi County Government on Wednesday launched an operation to take them over.
In a statement to Capital News, Nairobi County Government Chief Revenue Officer Nixon Otieno said the move is aimed at ensuring payments are made and they are able to provide better services in the county.
A number of buildings including Chester House were taken over and tenants were asked to be paying rent to the county authorities until the arrears are settled.
