Nairobi - Capital News reports that the Central Organisation of Trade Unions (COTU) has issued a two-weeks strike notice to protest the implementation of the new National Hospital Insurance Fund rates during this year’s Labour day.
Francis Atwoli, COTU's Secretary General served Labour Minister John Munyes with the strike notice at the May 1 celebrations at Uhuru Park, saying the strike would start on May 14 if the issue will not have been solved by then.
Atwoli claimed that NHIF was tainted with corruption and that it should be reformed first before the rates are effected.
