Nairobi - The government has launched an initiative to encourage local motor vehicle assemblers to partner with Small and Micro Enterprises (SME’s) when sourcing supplies locally.
The move is in a bid to create a spillover effect in job creation, Adan Mohammed, the Cabinet Secretary for Industrialisation and Enterprise Development told Capital News.
Mohammed went on to add that the government was also rolling out plans to set up common manufacturing facilities for SMEs across the country with the aim of increasing their capacity to play a bigger role in the automotive industry.
