Analogue TV switch off stopped
11 January 2013, 11:11
Nairobi - The switch off of the analogue broadcasting signal has been halted by the High Court until a suit filed by a Consumer Federation of Kenya (Cofek) is determined.
According to Daily Nation, the suit was filed by Cofek in December 2012 seeking to stop the government from switching off the analogue signal in Nairobi before the global deadline set for June 2015.
Justice Isaac Lenaola said on Friday that if effected immediately, the migration would be unfair to Kenyans, who are keen to follow the General Election on TV.
