Zambian MP wants President kicked out

08 December 2015, 19:03

Ikeleng’i – Opposition Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD) Member of Parliament Elijah Muchina for Ikeleng’i, has reportedly lashed out at the ruling PF government, saying their policies neglect the poor, according to The Post.

Muchina accused the ruling party of not being pro-poor.

“How can you be pro-poor when for five years, people have been suffering, struggling to buy soap?”

Reports indicate that President Edgar Lungu’s administration has failed to deliver on promises made during the election campaign early this year.

Lungu came into office early this year following a snap election in January after the death in office of president Michael Sata in October 2014.

"... the prices are unaffordable. People were promised heaven on earth by the PF before they came into power that they will have more jobs, more money in their pockets, but the opposite has happened. There is more misery today than any other time of any government," Muchina was quoted as saying.

Muchina said the PF will to struggle to win votes in elections scheduled for next year.
