Egypt's Sisi wants common Arab market, joint military force

Cairo – Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi has called for the creation and implementation of a common Arab market in order to unify Arabic nations, Daily News Egypt has reported.

Delivering a speech at the 14th annual conference held by the Arab Thought Foundation on Sunday, Sisi highlighted challenges faced by Arab countries and made a renewed call for the establishment of a joint Arab military force to protect Arabic interests.

The Egyptian leader stressed the importance of joint cultural projects in order to protect Arabic nations from terrorism and bring about a cultural renaissance, whilst striving for political and security stability.

Converging under the theme "Arab Integration... Experiments, Challenges and Horizons", the event was host to Head of the ATF, Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, as well as Secretary-General of the Arab  League, Nabil El-Araby.

This year’s conference also marks the 70th anniversary since the establishment of the Arab League.
