Cape Town – South African troops in the Democratic Republic of Congo may soon withdraw from that country following the signing of declarations between Kinshasa and M23 rebels, a report says.
According to SABC, Deputy Minister of Defence and Military Veterans Thabang Makwetla told journalists after visiting the troops in DRC that relative peace in that country could see SA troops disengage from Goma when its mandate expires.
SA troops have been in the DRC since 2001.
