Mandla Mandela: It's all about the money

Johannesburg - Mandla Mandela says the root of the problem ripping the Mandela family apart is that he dared to go against the family on the matter of Madiba’s money.
“This is the family that took my grandfather to court to get his money.”
Mandela says he stood against the family when they wanted to remove Advocate George Bizos, Human Settlements Minister Tokyo Sexwale and others as the trustees of the Mandela Trust.
“Now they target me as a soft target.”
Mandela claims many family members don’t have a right to speak on family matters, because they have married non-Mandelas.
“At the moment it seems any and everyone can come and say they are a Mandela and demand to be part of the Mandela family and take part in the decisions of the family. Individuals have decided to abandon their own families and jump on the Mandela wagon.”
Mandla says many who are now claiming the Mandela name are imposters and have no business in the matters of the Mandelas.
“This includes my aunt Makaziwe who long ago divorced and married another man [Isaac Amuah]. She has another surname.”
Mandela has questioned why the family are only now, two years later, found issue with the removal of the remains of three family members.
He says he will not challenge the matter of the remains any further “as it will serve no purpose”.
He was addressing the media in Mvezo.
