Boy born without penis meets his sponsor

Cape Town - A North-West boy who was born without a penis finally had the chance to meet the woman who is sponsoring his medical trip to Cape Town next week - and he welcomed her with big hugs, for a five-year-old at least.
Company director Nomfundo Molefe, 37, visited their house with her two boys and a bag of toys at the weekend.
“When they stopped at the house, he ran down the stairs to greet her...” his mother Judy said on Wednesday.
He was far from shy and told her all about Spider-Man and his other interests.
“I sat with her and showed the scrapbook with all his results and photos from when he was born until now. I explained everything to her and answered her questions. She understands the whole situation,” Judy said.
She would show her son the book when he was older and had questions.
He was born with a rare birth defect called epispadias. His urethra did not fully develop, meaning he had to pass urine from a hole in his groin area.
Now, after several operations, the boy is able to urinate through a specially inserted tube, but this breaks often and results in serious bladder infections.
A paediatric urologist at the Red Cross Children’s Hospital is set to draw up a plan of action once the boy undergoes several tests.
Molefe read about his plight on News24 and secured flights and a night in a Midrand hotel for him, his brother and parents, as well as transport to the airport. She also arranged for hotel accommodation for the family for the evening prior to the flight.
Meeting the family exceeded her expectations.
Calls brothers her 'boyfriends'
“We played games and had such a lovely time… they were so welcoming,” Molefe said on Wednesday.
They presented her with a bag printed with all their photos as a gift.
“It turns out that Judy found out that I am a Zulu girl and she made putu [pap] for me. It was so nice my son actually had to take a takeaway,” she said with a laugh.
The boy and his brother gave her so much attention she jokingly called them her “boyfriends”.
“I am hoping to fly there that Friday so I can drive them around and show them all the sights.”
Judy said she was excited to make the trip but also a little scared because they were not sure what to expect.
