Bashir bails out of Tripoli summit

Tripoli - Libya's foreign minister says Sudan's president, who is under indictment for war crimes, will not attend the EU-African summit in Tripoli.
Moussa Koussa told The Associated Press on Sunday that Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir will instead attend the meeting of the African Union's peace and security council.
Koussa said Libya asked him to refrain from attending the joint meeting because of European threats to walk out if he attened.
Koussa said Libya had exerted tremendous efforts to host the summit and it did not want ruined by a walkout.
The International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for al-Bashir for alleged war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide in Darfur.
