Johannesburg - A 450kg man was successfully transported to hospital, after he was turned away from 10 hospitals who said they could not accommodate a person his size, according to reports.
Eyewitness News reported that 60-year-old Corrie La Grange, was admitted to Charlotte Maxeke Academic Hospital, where he hopes to receive treatment for a medical condition called ascites.
Ascites causes fluid build-up around vital organs, which lead to his immense weight gain.
La Grange was lifted from his bed using sheets and ropes by paramedics and his family and transferred into a vehicle.
He told EWN that nobody seemed to want to touch his body.
La Grange said he is in desperate need of help.
