KES86m birthday bash planned for Mugabe

Cape Town – Zimbabwe’s Zanu-PF party is reportedly planning to raise at least KES 86 million for a grand birthday bash for President Robert Mugabe who turns 90 next month.
According to newzimbabwe.com, Zanu-PF’s secretary for youth affairs Absalom Sikhosana said preparations for the “special occasion” were going on well.
Mugabe’s birthday falls on 21 February but the celebrations would be held on 23 February in Marondera.
Mugabe, born in 1924, is the founding father of Zimbabwe and has ruled the country since its independence in 1980. He is by now the oldest head of state in Africa.
